The ReSAKSS 2013 Annual Trends and Outlook Report was released at the 2014 ReSAKSS Annual Conference, October 8, 2014. The report assesses the structure and performance of trade by African countries in global and regional agricultural markets. It also evaluates the extent of integration of African countries in these markets, and the potential for greater integration. The implications for resilience of domestic food systems are then analyzed, including the potential impact of biophysical or weather shocks on the capacity to use trade as a stabilizing instrument.
